My Vision For Michigan

I believe that Michigan has a bright future and that our government can play a role in realizing our common goals. That bright future will be built upon smart people, love for our neighbors, vibrant cities and protection of our tremendous natural resources. These are the basic building blocks of successul places; and, as your State Representative, I will fight to re-focus our priorities on the fundamentals of economic and social progress.

Michigan has so many strengths: from the Great Lakes - a resource unrivaled on this planet, to a history of innovation, invention and higher learning. Our state is poised to lead the world again.

That's why I am excited to work for you in Lansing. We're at a watershed moment in Michigan. We are struggling with high unemployment, a huge budget shortfall and an even larger deficit in leadership. For years, our legislature has been avoiding our core problems - shortchanging the citizens in order to avoid the difficult decisions that could derail personal ambitions. It's past time to address our challenges and stop pushing the problems into the next fiscal year.

We need experienced lawmakers who can leverage our advantages into tangible successes, and we need public servants who know that governing isn't about what is good for politicians, it's about what is good for Michigan.

My ambition is to do well for Michigan and to help Ann Arbor become an even more successful community. I will do that by aggressively advocating for education funding, environmental protection and equal rights under the law. I hope that I can count on your support in the election and your feedback when I'm working for you in Lansing.
